Project 365 Day 9

It was slightly cloudy today and a little windy, so I didn't get out very far today like I had planned for today's 365. This perfect rose was right in front of my house. Project 365 #9: Petals

I love macro flower shots, so I am sure this is the first of many in my 365 project!

Project 365 Day 8

On another lunchtime stroll --75 degrees at noon in early January, yes please!-- I noticed this little plant growing in between the bricks. Project 365 #8: A little sun

I loved the shadows and the contrast of the green against the flagstone bricks. Of course it was high noon, so the lighting was not ideal. Thus, I had to do a little involved editing in Lightroom 2 (I just LOVE the adjustment brush!), but I'm happy with the final image. It's a little plant that loves living in Southern California.
I am also very excited that I have stuck to my plan to post my photos on my blog...it has been a week, and I'm having fun sharing my photo stories with you. Much better than my images living on a memory card/hard drive doing nothin'.

Project 365

I have decided to do a photo project 365, which means that I will be taking 1 photo per day for 365 days (hence the name), and upload it to my Flickr set. Why would one impose such a chore on themselves? Well, I have heard about these types of projects, and since my New Year's resolution is to get my photography out into the world more, I figured this is a good way to do just that. Maybe some photos will even make it onto this blog (ultimate goal is one per day). Here is my photo from today, January 3, 2010

This was taken not far from my house in the late afternoon. I loved the lighting on the fence, and the lines of perspective of the fence and the sidewalk. Here is the Flickr page for this photo.
